Chocolate Ice Cream & Sauce Made with Olive Oil

Chocolate Ice Cream Ingredients
- 2 Cups of Heavy Cream
- 1 Cup of Whole Milk
- 1/2 Cup of Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1/2 Cup of Desired Chocolate Chips
- 1 Tsp of Pure Vanilla Extract
- 3/4 Cup of Granulated Sugar
Directions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the Heavy Cream, Whole Milk, Cocoa Powder & Sugar until the mixture is well combined and starts to steam
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the Chocolate Chips & Vanilla Extract until the Chocolate Chips are completely melted and the mixture is smooth
- Allow the mixture to cool then cover it up w/ plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight
- The next day pour it into an ice cream maker and churn until it reaches the consistency of a soft-serve
- Freeze the churned ice cream in a sealed container for a minimum of a couple hours
Chocolate Sauce Ingredients
- 1/4 Cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 Tsp of Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 Cup of Pure Maple Syrup (Raw Honey is also a delicious substitute!)
- 1/2 Cup of Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- A Dash of Salt as desired
Directions
- Whisk together the Cocoa Powder, Maple Syrup, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Vanilla Extract, & desired Salt until well combined
- Let the Chocolate Ice Cream Sauce with Olive Oil sit for ~5 minutes so the flavors can blend evenly
Serving Directions
Serve the chocolate ice cream in either cups or cones. Drizzle the homemade chocolate sauce over each serving as desired. Also experiment with different toppings to see how this homemade sauce and ice cream can elevate even the simplest of toppings! Enjoy ๐
